PartnersGlobal, the Rule of Law and Empowerment Initiative (also known as Partners West Africa – Nigeria), Democratic Action Group, and New-Rule are addressing judicial reform in Kano State, Nigeria through the Greater Access to Defense and Justice (GADJET) project. The overarching goal of the initiative is to improve citizens’ and indigents’ access to justice by providing legal services through the establishment of a Public Defender’s Office. The GADJET program is possible with the generous support of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement at the US Department of State.

In addition to collaboration to develop the Legal Aid Guide for PDO Kano, New-Rule is currently working on expanding the functionality of the PDO case management system, which will empower staff to effectively manage the expanding caseload.
