New-Rule’s co-founder, Helena Smolich, serves as Chief Operating Officer with over 15 years of experience in Information Technology and customer service. She leads the operational and financial activities plus many of the administrative functions of New-Rule.
In her previous work, she specialized in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and application development and coordinated complex projects with various interest groups and clients and has a wide range of customer service experience. She helped manage the GIS server technology, assisted with corporate spatial data systems, and provided technical support on field projects.
Ms. Smolich also worked in local government consulting, where she managed and served as technical lead on several multiyear projects. She has an M.A. in geography from the University of Iowa, with concentrations in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and computational geography, and has twice received the Antarctica Service Medal.
